The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with the Korea Creative Content Agency, is accepting submissions for the 1st Global Webtoon Awards until July 26. Eligible works must have been serialized for at least three months on domestic or international webtoon platforms from January 2022 to May 2023. Authors, platforms, production companies, associations, and organizations with the author's consent can apply. The awards ceremony will be held during the Webtoon Festival in Seoul, with the top 10 works receiving various opportunities, including author showcases and fan events.
The awards aim to provide a global stage for webtoon creators and excite fans worldwide. Yoon Yang-soo, Director of the Content Policy Bureau at the Ministry, expressed commitment to making the awards and festival a thrilling event for all participants.
